Governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) in Imo, Uche Nwosu, has vowed to upturn the victory of Emeka Ihedioha, who was declared winner of the governorship election in the state, on Monday, by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Prof. Francis Ezeonu.
He described Ihedioha’s victory as a stolen mandate said he is prepared for a legal battle with the governor-elect.
Nwosu, who addressed newsmen in Owerri, yesterday, said: “The result is unacceptable to me and my party; we are going to challenge the victory at the tribunal.
“It is a stolen mandate and I’ll reclaim it; you cannot take what belongs to somebody and give it to another person.”
He has also accused the Resident Electorao Commissioner (REC) of being partisan and instrumental to Ihedioha’s victory.
Nwosu accused the REC of conniving with the opposition party to deny him victory.
“All the ad hoc staff who worked for him are from his former institution, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, so, he did not see anybody good from the federal institutions we have in Imo.”
Nwosu further alleged that the huge results from three local government areas of Ahiazu Mbaise, Aboh Mbaise and Ezinihite got manual accreditations, instead of using the card readers.
