Ikorodu’s Eze Ndigbo, others mark Iriji yam festival

The Eze Ndigbo of Ikorodu West, Edwin Onyekachi and his cabinet members joined other Igbos in Lagos to celebrate this year’s Iriji Yam Festival on Sunday.

The ceremony, which started at the Eze’s palace and later moved to Upperweka, had in attendance Chief Okey Ohachosim Ogbu-efiomeogo, Obi of Anambra State; Chief Dominic Ajah, Palace Secretary; Chief Obi; Lolo Esther Okorie; Chief Chukwunoso Ojukwu (Oba); Chief Nwafor Daniel (Onowu), and Chief Stepco among others.

The Ofu Ndigbo of Ikorodu West, Chief G.O.C Ogbuaja and his cabinet members were also on ground to appease the gods. They offered prayers for the wellbeing of all Ndigbo in Ikorodu West and Nigeria in general. 

Other personalities that graced the occasion were Celestine Uchenna Odoh, Chief Aka Onye wetara I of Lagos mainland; Chief Mike Ani, Igwe Marwere; and Chief Solomon Aguene, Chairman, Ohaneze Ndigbo Lagos State.
