Ikeja Electric upscales strategy to track energy consumption, vending

To further deepen its culture of transparency, Ikeja Electric at the weekend, launched Singleview,a web application aimed at assisting its teeming customers track their energy consumption and vending frequency.

According to the Chief Marketing and Strategy  Officer for the power utility firm, Mr. Ugochukwu Obi-chukwu, explained that the App known as IE Singleview enables customers to carry out their activities under a synchronized app which allows them to buy electricity and view consumption over a period of time.

He said a couple of years ago when the firm had its strategy session, it was decided that the key focus for it as an organization should be the customer that should come first all the time.

The Chief Marketing Officer said riding on the back of that mantra, a lot of the products that it decided to create was customer driven and technology backed.

He added that one key challenged identified was that customers are only aware of the amount of energy bought, but they often don’t know what quantum of energy consumed.

Obi-chukwu explained that more and more customers are now interested in energy management, hence the reason for the development of the robust application which takes care of both maximum and non- maximum demand customers.

He disclosed that the application will equally afford consumers the opportunity to compare their energy use cost over other forms of energy since they view their consumption pattern and vending cost over a period of time.

The marketing expert explained that the single view application is complimentary to the earlier launched IE Mobile App, adding that the next phase of it would be the integration with Mobile App.

Other features of the Singleview platform are; lodge service enquiries, requests or complaints and the Business Unit and Undertaking Office covering their location will respond promptly.

Speaking earlier on the Singleview, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Folake Soetan, noted that as a customer centric organization, Ikeja Electric is always forward thinking, innovative and committed to its customers in order to enhance their experience. This solution offers convenience and prompt service. According to her, “with Singleview, we have further given them power in their hands”.

She noted that the platform will enable customers to access the necessary information with ease. With the ability to track and understand their consumption and vending patterns, they are able to plan their energy need efficiently.

SinglevIew is targeted at only prepaid meter customers within Ikeja Electric network. Customers can use it by logging unto www.ikejaelectric.com/single-view to learn more about the solution and register with their meter number.

The company noted that the creation of the SingleView platform is testament that the Management and Staff of Ikeja Electric continuously yearn to deliver quality services and ensure direct access to it through various channels in line with its mantra “Customer first; Technology now.”
