Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho has assured that Bursaspor won’t lose a Turkish second-tier at home, once the squad has its fans backing.
The former Leicester City star has made a flying start to the 2026/27 Turkish 1. Lig campaign, scoring twice and providing an assist in his opening two league appearances.
Speaking about playing in front of the club’s supporters, the Nigerian forward said it was fantastic to perform before one of the biggest fan groups in Türkiye and stressed that their backing could make Bursaspor difficult to defeat at home.
“It’s fantastic to play in front of one of the biggest fan groups in Türkiye. As long as we have their support behind us, we won’t easily lose matches in Bursa,” Iheanacho said, as quoted by Fotomac.
The 29-year-old joined Bursaspor on a free transfer after leaving Scottish champions Celtic, where he helped the club win the domestic double during the 2025/26 campaign.
Iheanacho’s immediate impact has strengthened Bursaspor’s promotion push, with the club targeting a return to the Turkish top flight.
