The member representing Nkanu East/West federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Nnolim Nnaji, has paid tribute to late Igwe Eddy Nkem Nweke, Igwenezoroha of Imeama Amafor Ugbawka, Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu state, as his final Ofala ceremony holds tomorrow, March 28.
Igwe Nweke, who represented Nkanu federal constituency under the old Anambra State in 1979 and 1983 died in October, 2024.
The lawmaker described Igwenezoroha’s reign as a transformative period of growth and rebirth for the community, marked by significant economic development.
He praised the Igwe’s commitment to justice, uprightness, and fairness in resolving disputes among his subjects.
Igwenezoroha, according to him, was celebrated as a bridge builder who fostered peace and goodwill with neighboring kingdoms.
His remarkable popularity earned him the symbolic title “the rain that touches everyone,” Igwenezoroha which became synonymous with his kingdom.
As Nnaji bids Igwenezoroha farewell, he acknowledges the immense void left by his departure, a gap that will take years to fill. He wished Igwenezoroha eternal glory as he returns to his creator.”
