An illustrious son of Enugu State, Sir Hart Ucheonwu, has been honored with the prestigious Silent Hero in Leadership and Development Award at the 2026 edition of the Nigeria Silent Heroes Awards held in Abuja, where he joined an array of eminent Nigerians celebrated for their outstanding contributions to national development.
Also,honoured is the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Olatunji Disu , Chief of Army Staff, General Waidi Shaibu; the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke and others .
The event, which marked the eighth edition of the annual awards, recognised distinguished personalities from across the country whose quiet but impactful contributions have continued to shape governance, security, leadership and community development.
Among other recipients were Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf; Niger State Governor, Mohammed Dago; Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal; Borno State Deputy Governor, Dr Umar Usman Kadafur; the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede; the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu; the Chief of Army Staff, General Waidi Shaibu; the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke; the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi; and the immediate past President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Chief Christopher Isiguzo, among others.
Receiving the award amidst applause from dignitaries, traditional rulers, senior security officers, politicians and business leaders, Prince-Henry Hart described the recognition as a solemn reminder of the enduring values of service, integrity and sacrifice rather than a celebration of personal accomplishment.
He expressed profound appreciation to the organizers for finding him worthy of the honor, noting that the award represented “a solemn affirmation of the enduring values of service, integrity, sacrifice and commitment to the common good.”

According to the Uzo-Uwani-born oil sector development icon, in an era dominated by public attention and self-promotion, the Silent Heroes Awards had distinguished itself by recognizing individuals whose greatest achievements are reflected in the lives they have transformed rather than the applause they receive.
He commended the organizers and members of the selection committee for sustaining what he described as a noble vision of celebrating excellence without fanfare. According to him, I accept this award with immense humility because I am acutely aware that no meaningful achievement is ever the product of one individual alone.
He dedicated the award to family members, mentors, colleagues, associates and supporters whose encouragement, he noted had strengthened his resolve over the years.
Earlier in his address, the Founder of the Silent Heroes Awards initiative, Mr. Sunday Odita, said the awards were conceived to celebrate Nigerians whose invaluable contributions to national development often remain unnoticed by the wider public.
According to him, Nigeria has produced countless successful leaders, entrepreneurs, entertainers, intellectuals and innovators, yet many citizens making significant impacts continue to work quietly without public recognition.
