IPOB Leader Nnamdi Kanu

From Okey Sampson, Umuahia

Igbo religious leaders, under aegis of Concerned Igbo Ministers Commission (CIMC), has tasked South East governors on the release of the detained Indigenous People of Biafra leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

In a statement by Tony Anthony, international president/coordinator and  Tony Osuji, general secretary, the body said it appeared the South East governors who earlier made known their intention to see to the release of Kanu have suddenly chickened out

“It appears evidently that the South East governors, who recently

assured us of their efforts to secure the release of Kanu, have suddenly gone quiet.

“We openly accuse the South East governors of chickening out. What are they really afraid of?

“When Sunday Igboho was detained in the Benin Republic, all Yoruba monarchs, politicians, and bishops rallied round until his release was. secured.”

CIMC appealed to the South East governors to stand firm for their own like the governors of the South West stood for Igboho.

“We equally call on all the traditional rulers, bishops and politicians in Igbo land to rise at this very special occasion for the release of our brother,” CIMC said in the statement.
