A pan Igbo group, the Pan Igbo Youth Assembly, has vowed to invoke its wrath on politicians in the South East allegedly working against President Bola Tinubu’s re election.

The group gave INEC seven days to remove National Commissioner Ken Nnamdi Ukeagu, who oversees Imo, Anambra and Ebonyi States. It accused him of partisan activities and leaking sensitive documents.

Spokesman Noble Nkem Regius said electoral credibility depends on public confidence in the neutrality of officials. He described the alleged leakage as extremely serious.

PIYA demanded that INEC Chairman Joash Amupitan remove Ukeagu and investigate the claims thoroughly. It threatened to occupy INEC offices across the South East if the commission fails to act.

INEC’s Deputy Director of Information, Wilfred Ifogha, said the commission is not aware of such allegations and described them as unfounded. Another source said Ukeagu would never engage in such acts.
