Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, Senior Pastor of Trinity House, Igali, Lagos, has said he would marry his late wife again if there is marriage in heaven. He stated this when he led a Thanksgiving Service in memory of his late wife, Ibidunni Igodalo, who passed away five years ago. He paid tribute to the woman he described as the love of his life, his greatest supporter and a blessing he would choose all over again.
“If there is marriage in heaven, I would marry her again. She never gave me trouble. She never interfered in my work. Although she could be naughty at times, she helped me fulfil my dreams. She was kind-hearted, hardworking and simply outstanding. I loved her with everything I had and still do.”
He took the audience back to the first time they met, at a friend’s wedding at the University of Lagos. He said it was love at first sight. “I kept looking at her and my friend asked, ‘Do you like her? You’ve been starring. I’ll connect her with you.’ That’s how it all started. From that moment, I never let her out of my sight until we became one.”
The anniversary service drew friends, family and dignitaries who came to honour the legacy of Ibidunni Ighodalo, known for her philanthropy and commitment to service. Among the speakers was Pastor Funke Adejumo, who challenged the congregation to consider the legacy they were building.
“Ask yourself, what are you building? Will it open doors for your children and the generations after you? Life is a mystery. No one knows when the light will go out. If what you are building dies with you, then you have failed,” she said.
She encouraged the audience to build something of value, something that would endure beyond their lifetime. “Don’t forget where God brought you from. We are what we are by His grace. Let us build on that grace and not waste the opportunity,” she advised.
