Institute OF Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN), has inaugurated its first chapter in the northern region of Nigeria in Kaduna State, making it the 8th chapter of the Institute across the country.

The inauguration which took place recently in the State Capital, Kaduna also witnessed the inauguration of its Pioneer Chairman, Alhaji Tijjani Mohammed, and other executives who will steer its affairs for the next two years.
In an address, the President/Chairman of Council of Institute, Mrs. Funmi Ekundayo, charged the chapter Chairman to work relentlessly to increase its membership base.
“Let us embrace the task of contacting all the Chartered Secretaries and Administrators resident in Kaduna State and invite them to the Chapter’s meetings as we consistently strive to promote the ideals of corporate governance”
The ICSAN President also charged the first leadership of the new chapter to carry the members of the Chapter along in its governance and policy implementation and at all times in orderto uphold the virtues of discipline, transparency, disclosure, sincerity of purpose and the principles of quality governance, which ICSAN brand is reputed for.
“The prognostications for the future of this Chapter and the Institute in general are very bright as the Institute keeps improving in all ramifications. I charge the leadership of this new Chapter to commit to their duties and responsibilities with dedication and commitment which Chartered Secretaries are obligated to perform”
Ekundayo assured that the Institute would monitor the chapter’s progress while it remains important to break new grounds. “It is our collective responsibility to ensure not only the survival, but sustainability of this new Chapter. Like a new born baby that needs to be tended and nurtured with care from infancy to the stage of self-sustenance. I enjoin everyone to heartily embrace the challenge of nurturing this chapter with care” she implored. Commenting, the Chairman of Publicity and Advocacy Committee, Mrs. Nkechi Onyenso, said the inauguration was a fulfillment of Ekundayo’s promise to make ICSAN a true national association with presence in all the geo- political zones in the country. “This inauguration is the first and many would come during the presidency of Ekundayo as the 29th and first female President of the Institute” she assured.
