As Nigerians prepare their minds to vote in the forthcoming general elections in 2023, Celebrity Journalist, Adeniyi Moses Ifetayo has disclosed that he would vote for Labour Party’s Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.
Ifetayo shared this during an interview with Alex Reports whereby he said, the reason for his choice is that Peter Obi has come to change the game.
He said, “I am going to vote for Peter Obi but he’s not going to win. The reason why I would vote for him is that he is coming to change the narrative; that it is no longer business as usual for the politicians to take us for a ride.
“Now they will begin to sit up and if they don’t perform, they will be kicked out.
Recalling the first time he voted, he said, “I remembered the first time I voted, in 2003, then you just vote and enter your house. In 2007, as awareness increased, voters were advised to wait until their votes were counted. But with media participation and the advent of social media, people were encouraged to follow up from polling to ward Units to ensure collation are done properly.
“I think the media is the reason why the youths have woken up to their responsibility, what they should have been doing since.
Ifetayo noted in the past the political space was money-dominated and politics was seen as a dirty game. He stated that with increased awareness, youths understand that power is a buffet, “you must go for it”.
If Peter Obi and labor party have candidates contesting for Senate, House of Representatives, Governorship and house of Assembly in all the 36 states of the federation then his chances of winning will be high because that’s the structures. You can fact-checked me, they don’t have 30 Governorship candidates out of 36 states and FCT. But it’s Good Mr Peter Obi is paving the way, changing the narrative and emerging as a third force in our political space.
