The Managing Director of Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC), Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa has trained personnel of the commission on capacity building to deliver its mandate.
Yelwa disclosed this on Monday while declaring open the 5 days capacity building workshop on skills development for organizational productivity, organized incollaboration with Mamudawa Investment LTD Meridian consult, held in Jos, Plateau State.
Represented by the Director of Planning and Statistics, Emmanuel Hassan Bimtet said the training will enhance service delivery in line with the vision of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Federal Government.
“The skill development programme will better equipped personnel of the commission with requisite knowledge in driving to realization the vision and mandate of HYPPADEC.
“The programme will be concentrating on five basic issues which includes effective communication and report writing skills; information and record management for organizational work; contemporary administration course for office assistance and work ethics and value orientation for organizational productivity.”
He explained that at the end of the workshop, the personnel should be able to carry out their work diligently and effectively to advance growth and development within the states where HYPPADEC operates.
A facilitator, Danladi Mahoud said the imperative of the skills development workshop cannot be under emphasized as its equipped the staff and management with the vision of the commission for effective service delivery.
“This training intend to recalibrate the vision of HYPPADEC by ensuring that every staff is on the same page, so that no one will be lacking behind. We will also cross-fertilization of ideas to develop professionalism.
“To strengthen the staff on work techniques, most them are new and they do not know the workability of an organization and we expect that at the end of the workshop, all staff will have their capacity enhance.” He stated.
A staff officer in charge of training, Sandra Nguveren said the workshop will provide great inside into the mandate of the commission and prepare the staff to work towards achieving the mandate.
“At the end of this workshop, the staff will be better equipped to function properly and to discharge their duties effectively. I believe at the end of the day, we will be able to impact positively on the society.” She stated.
