A Nigerian-born artist with a background spanning toxicology and urban planning, Chiaka’s work functions as a vital bridge between aesthetic beauty and community transformation.
From Environmental Solutions to Urban Design, Chiaka’s journey as a purposeful creative began during his bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management and Toxicology at the Federal University of Agriculture, Umuahia.
There, he first demonstrated the practical power of art by designing visual campaigns and signage for campus waste disposal. These initiatives gained significant recognition from the university administration, proving early on that creativity could solve real-world problems and drive civic engagement.
He expanded this vision further during his Master’s in Urban Planning at the University of Westminster. His research focused on how street art can revitalize neglected open spaces, positioning creative expression as a cornerstone of strategic urban design. To complement his thesis, he produced a striking portrait series of his graduating class a diverse, global cohort celebrating the human element necessary for building sustainable, inclusive cities.
Despite the success of his recent portraiture, Chiaka refuses to be “boxed in” or limited to a specific niche. He views his practice as an expansive creative business, having successfully delivered murals, commercials, illustrations, and art direction for various organizations. He believes that by refusing to be subjected to a particular style, he can more effectively use art to spark dialogue, awareness, and transformation wherever it is needed most.
Under his brand BOMOWAYZ, Chiaka’s recent series, Family as the First System, explores the foundational structures of society through three central figures.
The Father: Positioned as a child’s first encounter with leadership, providing the structure, discipline, and moral direction that shape future citizens.

The Mother: Representing stability and continuity, she anchors the family through care, emotional grounding and economic management.

The First Child: A pivotal figure acting as a bridge, assuming responsibilities early and ensuring the transfer of family values to the next generation.
