Canadian singer, Céline Dion, has made a rare public appearance in Paris ahead of her highly anticipated return to the stage.
The “My Heart Will Go On” crooner was spotted outside her hotel in the French capital on Friday, August 28, where she greeted fans and photographers.
Dion stepped out in a beige trench coat and sunglasses as she acknowledged the crowd gathered outside the hotel.
The appearance comes as Dion prepares for a series of performances in Paris scheduled to begin in September.
The shows will mark her return to the stage after her memorable performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Dion previously described the upcoming residency as a special birthday gift to herself.
In a video announcing the shows in March, she told fans, “This year, I’m getting the best birthday gift of my life. I’m getting the chance to see you, to perform for you.”
The Grammy-winning singer has spent the past several years dealing with stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder she publicly disclosed in 2022. The condition caused severe muscle spasms and affected her ability to perform.
Despite the challenges, Dion has remained determined to return to music. Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar earlier this month, she said she wanted to give her fans something that reflected how much she had missed them.
“It’s been so long, I would like to offer them something to show how I’ve missed them,” she said.
Dion previously revealed that she had been working extensively with medical and fitness professionals to regain the strength required to perform.
“The way I see it, I have two choices,” she said. “Either I train like an athlete and work super hard, or I switch off and it’s over.”
Her upcoming performances in Paris are expected to run until May 2027, signalling a major return to the stage after years away from regular live performances.
