House of Reps Information Committee chair returns in Oyo

The All Progressives Congress APC has won the House of Representatives election for Surulere/Ogo Oluwa federal constituency of Oyo State.

The Surulere/Ogo Oluwa federal constituency is one of the 14 federal seats in Oyo State.

The APC candidate for the poll, Segun Odebunmi, who is the current Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Information and National Orientation, was re-elected for the third term.

According to the result announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Odebunmi polled 15,463 votes to defeat his closest rival, Kamoru Alagbe of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), who scored 12, 766 votes.

Also, the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the federal constituency, Abioye Adegboyega, came third with 7,837 votes.

The result was announced in Ajaawa, the headquarters of Ogo Oluwa Local Government in Ogbomoso political division of Oyo State, the division that produced former governor of the state, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala of ADP.
