The Dr Ameyo Stella Adadevoh (DRASA) Health Trust is marking its 10th anniversary with a landmark celebration themed around a decade of protecting health, preventing disease, and preserving the legacy of Nigeria’s Ebola heroine, Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh. The event will hold in Abuja and online on Monday, October 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Founded in 2015 to honour Dr. Adadevoh, whose courageous actions stopped the spread of Ebola in Nigeria, DRASA has become a leading force in public health, working with government, private sector, and international partners to strengthen the country’s health security systems.
The anniversary celebration will gather government officials, development partners, health professionals, business leaders, and DRASA’s nationwide network of Health Champions.
Highlights of the event include the premiere of a 10-minute documentary chronicling DRASA’s impact, an interactive digital “Impact Showroom,” TED-style conversations, and the launch of a pioneering Endowment Fund to ensure the long-term sustainability of Nigeria’s health security efforts.
Since its founding, DRASA has trained 96,858 Health Champions and 15,796 health workers, supported 28 national and subnational public health policies, established 13 emergency response systems at major points of entry, and distributed over 31,000 units of personal protective equipment to frontline facilities.
Managing Director, DRASA Health Trust, Mrs. Niniola Williams, described the anniversary as both a celebration and a renewed commitment. “This 10th anniversary is not just about our journey; it’s about our continued resolve to prevent infection and protect health. The next decade is about scaling impact, leveraging innovation, and ensuring no community is left behind,” she said.
The milestone celebration underscores DRASA’s role in building a healthier, safer Nigeria through partnership, innovation, and the enduring legacy of courage exemplified by Dr. Adadevoh.
