The Alimosho Global Crossover Service, tagged “Night of Abundance,” was held at the Abesan Stadium, Ipaja, Lagos, drawing thousands of worshippers from across Alimosho and its environs.
The event was organised by High Tower Global Church and featured prayers, worship, prophetic declarations, testimonies, and a large-scale humanitarian outreach in which no fewer than 5,000 people were fed.
Speaking with journalists at the event, the Global Prophet and Senior Pastor of High Tower Global Church, Prophet Rufus Ikotun, expressed gratitude to God for the successful transition into the year 2026, describing the new year as a divinely declared “Year of Abundance.”
“I want to appreciate God and congratulate everyone who made it into 2026. The year 2025 was tough, but God still showed Himself strong.
The Lord said to me that 2026 will be a year of abundance for His children,” Ikotun said.
The cleric also spoke prophetically on national issues, expressing optimism about Nigeria’s future. According to him, insecurity, particularly banditry, will come to an end.
“The Lord told me that banditry will stop because the source of its power will be exposed. God has heard the cry of His children, and Nigeria will change for the better.
The change will amaze everyone,” he declared.
On the church’s decision to feed over 5,000 people during the crossover service, Prophet Ikotun explained that the gesture was inspired by his personal experiences with hardship while growing up.
“I hate seeing people hungry because I have been there before. When I lived with my grandmother in Ilesha, we only ate rice on Sundays or Christmas Day. Today, by God’s grace, my children eat well. I promised God that if He blesses me, people will not leave our crossover service hungry,” he said.
He added that the feeding programme was not a one-off intervention, noting that the church has consistently supported its host community through various outreach initiatives.
“The communities around us can testify to what we have done by the grace of God. Next year, by God’s help, we are planning to feed 10,000 people,” he revealed.
Prophet Ikotun emphasised that churches must play active roles in community development, describing social impact as the true definition of the church.
“The purpose of the church is to make an impact. Any church that is not impacting its community is not a church. Even Jesus fed people before preaching to them,” he stated.
The cleric described the crossover service as more than a New Year celebration, calling it a revival and crusade where lives were transformed. He cited several testimonies, including the healing of a man who had been deaf for five years.
Looking ahead to 2026, Prophet Ikotun urged Nigerians to remain hopeful despite economic challenges, explaining that abundance would be experienced differently by individuals.
“There are different kinds of famine, global, national, family, and personal. Even in times of abundance, some may still struggle. But God is determined to bring His children into abundance this year,” he said.
Addressing political leaders, the cleric called for compassionate leadership and accountability.
“I want our leaders to have merciful hearts. If Nigerians are paying taxes, they should see the results, good roads, security, electricity, and basic amenities.
Leadership should put smiles on the faces of the people,” he appealed.
He reaffirmed his confidence that 2026 would be a better year for Nigeria, urging citizens to remain steadfast in faith.
“As you stand with Christ, you will see that Jesus is not one of the ways; He is the only way,” he said.
