The Federal Ministry of Health has appointed Doyin Bademosi, Founder, Durotimi AI, to the Technical Working Group (TWG) for the National Cancer Control Plan (NCCP) as the chairman of the Cancer Data, AI and Digital Health Subcommittee.

He will specifically advise on implementing digital ecosystems that can function within Nigeria’s unique infrastructural realities.

Bademosi said: “To move the needle on cancer survival in Nigeria, we must move beyond generic technology and embrace Localized Intelligence. My mission will and has always been to ensure that AI is a clinical accelerator, not a barrier.

“I am honoured to support the ministry in building a sustainable, digitally-enabled oncology framework that prioritizes early detection and equitable access for every Nigerian, regardless of their geography.”

His work within the TWG will focus on ensuring that digital health interventions are interoperable, ethically grounded, and optimized for local demographics.

The inclusion of private-sector expertise in the NCCP highlights the Ministry’s commitment to public-private collaboration in tackling complex health challenges.
