Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Didi Walson-Jack has hailed Nigerian workers as the “bedrock of national progress” in her Workers’ Day message, emphasising unity, innovation, and excellence as keys to overcoming challenges.

In a statement marking the May 1 public holiday declared by the federal government, Walson-Jack expressed gratitude to civil servants for their “resilience, hard work, and patriotism”, which she said sustain Nigeria’s development. “I salute your invaluable service and call on you to remain resolute in upholding the highest standards of efficiency, productivity, integrity, and commitment to the Nigerian people.”

According to her, “Today reminds us that we can overcome any obstacle through unity, innovation, and excellence and build a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria.

She urged the workers to uphold the highest standards of efficiency, productivity, and integrity.

The Head of Service concluded with a prayer: “May your efforts be richly rewarded, and may our nation flourish through your dedication. Happy Workers’ Day!”
