The Forum of Mobile Advert Practitioners of Nigeria has held a 2- day workshop titled: “Capacity Building Initiative for Individual sustainability In A Fast Changing World”
Speaking at the event, which held in Benin City, the Edo State capital, the group’s President, Otunba Mike Osimen said the workshop was necessary though overdue, and is aimed at exposing our members and the public to new employment chains by the experts due to the economic downturn in the country.
He said: “We have identified a gap in our tax business among our workers which necessitated our collaboration to dissect the challenges and proffer lasting solutions.”
According to him, the workshop is aimed at exposing our members and the public to other avenues of making money when there’s a drought in their income.
He said cash trap can only be avoided when people have multiple sources of income.
“Tax collection is a seasonal business and those involved in it must get other multiple sources of income, hence the gathering of industry experts to do justice to the topic”.
Speaking also at the event, representative of the Abia State government, Agu Ndubusi of the state board of internal revenue applauded the organisers of the event, saying it was timely at this crucial time of the country for everybody to have multiple sources of income inorder to be able to overcome the economic hardship, insisting that with FORUM group, the state internal revenue board has gotten new APP for generating revenue, as against the old way of using manual method which is fraud prone.
Muyiwa Adeyemon, an animal husbandry, one of the key experts at the event told participants that the only way to survive the present economic hiccups is to diversify into agriculture.
Osimen at the close of the event said Nigeria is a business driven economy, and commerce and people must take advantage of the workshop with the skills acquired to put their hands to work.
The workshop was attended by participants from Abia, Edo, Osun, Ogun, Delta,Lagos and Ondo states.
