A renewable energy company, Alternatio Navitas, has urged the Federal Government to tap the country’s potential in renewable energy with a view to achieving sustainable development. According to its Head of Marketing, Mary Karanja, who gave the charge during a phone chat with the reporter, the country has a huge potential that can fetch humongous revenue and translate it to sustainable development.
Said she: “Nigeria has enormous potential to earn revenue and achieve sustainable development by harnessing its renewable energy sources. A concerted effort from the government, private sector is essential in this regard. Some of the ways to harness renewable energy are through public awareness, research and development, as well as international collaboration to mention just few And estimating the exact revenue Nigeria can earn from developing its resources of renewable energy depends on several factors such as scale of investment, cost of transaction ,technology choices, demand, market conditions etc.”
She explained that Alternatio Navitas in Nigeria has a commitment to its clean energy sustainability, saying “Alternatio Navitas envisions a future where clean energy powers Nigeria’s growth, driving economic development while preserving the environment by spearheading the adoption of renewable energy technologies.
