Hard work: Firm rewards 40 dedicated staff members

In a bid to boost the morale of its workers and to encourage hard work, an electrical and construction firm, News Engineering Limited, yesterday, in Abuja distributed electrical appliances and presented cash reward to 40 of its staff members.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company, Lady Josephine Nwaeze, also explained that the gesture was part of the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the firm.

Earlier, Nwaeze had sponsored 40 budding leaders at the Guardian of the Nation International Leadership Centre (GOTNI), to enable them understand the rudiments of leadership.

She recalled how her late husband, Ojimadu, started the business, adding that it had not been easy.

Regardless of the challenges, she expressed gratitude to God for the strength to soldier on against all odds.

“It has not been easy. It has been a journey of ups and downs. It is actually been very turbulent. But the good news is that we are still standing.

“An because we are still standing it is a testament of hard work, testament of resilience and testament of having a positive mindset.

Even if the business environment is not friendly, you will have to try your possible best to remain in business. So the journey, I will say in a nutshell, has not been an easy one. But we thank God that we are here today.”

According to her, in the next 40 years, the establishment would venture into the manufacturing of solar panels and other accessories.

“In the next 40 years, we are hoping to go more into manufacturing of solar panels and other solar accessories.

“We are expected to go into other areas of business venture. We are expecting to actually go outside the shores of Nigeria to other African countries because we also develop mini grids.

“We are investing and working towards renewable energy solar home system. We have constructed quite a handful of them in the country.

“So we are grateful to the members to Nigerian Society of engineers that has given us the opportunity to go outside the shores of Nigeria.

“Our dream is to begin to duplicate what we have done in the country, in other African countries.

“Although we pride ourselves as number one indigenous construction company in Nigeria, so I expect News Engineering Limited to be a household name in all the African countries or cities in Nigeria.”
