Gunmen, Monday night, attacked the country home of a federal lawmaker, Pascal Agbordike, representing Ihiala Federal Constituency of Anambra State.

The hoodlums allegedly set the lawmaker’s building ablaze at Ubahi Village in Mbosi, Ihiala Local Government Area.

Agbordike said his house was completely burnt to the extent that he did not recover anything. He further said he could not link the attack to anybody and called on the police and other security agencies to carry out thorough investigation into the incident, to reveal the culprits.

“As I am talking with you, I am homeless, my building was completely burnt in the village and nothing was rescued. I got a call at about 1am this morning that my house was under attack by hoodlums. They gained access into the compound and burnt everything down while shooting sporadically. I lost everything in that house, including all my documents,” the lawmaker said.

He said the building had five bedrooms and four living rooms. Agbordike was the immediate past Deputy Speaker, Anambra House of Assembly.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, who confirmed the incident, said the command had commenced investigation into the attack.
