Gombe State gubernatorial aspirant, Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki has expressed delight over the promotion of his club side, Mailantarki Care Football Club who during the week secure a place in the country’s second-tier football league.
The aspirant who is billed to contest under the platform of the New Nigeria People Party, revealed this via a statement signed by the club Media Director, Adamu Usman Ahmed.
Having funded the team to double glory at the recent 2022 International Youth Championship played in Denmark and Norway, the erstwhile federal lawmaker vow to keep championing the side to an enviable height.
He however stated the victory will serve as a wakeup call for other political hoping to use football as a tool of engaging youths in their milieu.
“This is just the beginning of great things to come. I have more plans for youths and I won’t relent in my dream to make the state a pace setter.”
