A group, Ifelodun Federation of Igboho Indigenes (FII) has lauded President Bola Tinubu, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Tunji Disu and the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Oluwatosin Adeola Ajayi, for backing the Yoruba nation activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Igboho, in restoring security and peace in Oke Ogun axis of Oyo State.
The group noted that Igboho’s efforts, through Iru Ekun Security Network in rescuing kidnapped victims in Oke Ogun axis, had further restored the hope, peace and security in the affected communities.
The chairman of the group, Alhaji Ahmed Adegoke noted that Oke Ogun communities for several years, have suffered repeated incidents of killing, kidnapping and violent attack, a development which had heightened insecurity and fear in the area.
He said, “Farmers, traders, transporters, business owners and innocent residents have lived under fear as many families have reportedly paid huge sums of money to secure the freedom of their loved ones.

“We want to appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the IGP, DG DSS, Chief of Army Staff, National Security Adviser, heads of other security agencies, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade, and the leadership of Pan Yoruba Sociocultural group, Afenifere, for supporting Igboho’s security team,” Adegoke said.
While urging the sustenance of security measures to tackle criminalities in Oke Ogun and other parts of Oyo State, he recalled that farmers, traders, transporters, business owners and innocent residents have lived under fear as many families reportedly paid huge sums of money to secure the freedom of their loved ones.
He recalled that recent freedom of the abducted Alhaja Kubura Aliqlas alongside her two years old son, Abdulmalik, who had since regained their freedom aptly underscores the challenges confronting the people.
“During this difficult period, the intervention of Chief Oloye Sunday Adeyemo (Sunday Igboho) and members of his security team brought renewed confidence and hope to many residents who had been living in fear.”
“Furthermore, we respectfully urge all community leaders, including representatives of Fulani associations and every ethnic group residing within our communities, to cooperate fully with lawful security operations and to discourage anyone who may aid, encourage, or shield criminal elements,” he added.
