President Bola Tinubu has been commended for his choice of ministers, especially those from the South East.
A pressure group, Igbo Vanguard for Sustenance of Democracy, noted that while the list of ministerial nominees contained both technocrats and APC party faithful, Tinubu also ensured those chosen were eminently qualified.
In a statement, the group’s president, Chief Hyacinth Nnoli, expressed satisfaction with the quality of nominees from the South East, describing them as young, vibrant, and eminently qualified worthy representatives of the zone.
“From Senator Dave Umahi, to Uju Ohanenye, Doris Uzoka and Nkeriuka Onyejiocha to Nnaji, we can say without any equivocation that these are dynamic young men and women whom Ndigbo are proud of.”
Nnoli said while Ohanenye is a former APC presidential aspirant who stepped down for Tinubu during the primaries, Nnaji was a governorship candidate of the party in Enugu state.
He said Onyejiocha apart from her rich legislative experience spanning 16 years, has been an asset to the APC, while Dr Doris Aninte parades intimating credentials that would be an asset to the Tinubu administration.
Nnoli expressed confidence that the ministerial nominees from the South East, including Senator Dave Umahi would add value to thegovernment with their rich and varied experiences.
He was particularly happy that with the inauguration of the ministers, they would help consolidate the gains of APC in the South East and turn it into a formidable party.
He expressed gratitude to Tinubu for running a government of inclusivity, especially by making an Igbo man, Admiral Ikechkwu Ogala,Chief of Naval Staff.
“The Igbo cannot thank Mr President enough for making it possible for an Igbo man to take a seat at the nation”s security council for the first time in eight years.”
He also expressed appreciation to Governor Hope Uzodimma, leader of APC in the South East, for working closely with President Tinubu for the good of Ndigbo.
He urged the governor to consolidate on his achievements by ensuring that more APC people from the South East have the opportunity to make their contribution to nation building under Tinubu.
