Actor Eric Dane, who was popular for his characters on Grey’s Anatomy and Euphoria, has died at the age of 53 following a battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
Dane’s demise was announced by his family on Friday, and the actor was said to have breathed his last on Thursday in the company of friends and family.
“With heavy hearts, we share that Eric Dane passed on Thursday afternoon following a courageous battle with ALS.
“He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always. Eric adored his fans and is forever grateful for the outpouring of love and support he’s received,” the statement said.
Dane disclosed his ALS diagnosis in April 2025, with his final days spent raising funds and awareness for the motor neurone disease (MND).
Eric William Dane was born on November 9, 1972, and appeared in films like X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), Valentine’s Day (2010), and Bad Boys: Ride or Die (2024).
He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
