Greensprings School Lekkizzzzz, Lagos, has unveiled a groundbreaking N5 billion development drive that promises to revolutionize the nation’s academic, athletic, and creative landscapes. As the school celebrated its annual Christmas show, it simultaneously showcased its unwavering commitment to nurturing Nigeria’s brightest talents and positioning the country for global prominence.

The massive infrastructure upgrade, spearheaded at the school’s Lekki and Anthony campuses, features a world-class athletic center and a cutting-edge creative arts hub—facilities designed not only to produce Nigeria’s future sporting champions and artistic icons but also to elevate the nation’s status on the world stage.

These strategic investments underscore Greensprings’ vision to develop a new generation of Nigerians equipped to lead in every sphere of international competition and innovation.

Speaking at the event, Chukwuemeka Anyiam-Osigwe reflected on the school’s role as a crucible of talent and excellence. “Greensprings isn’t just a school; it’s a launch pad for Nigeria’s future,” he declared. “From our annual Christmas show to the state-of-the-art facilities now in place, this institution is shaping young Nigerians into global leaders in arts, sports, and beyond.”

As part of its 40th-anniversary legacy projects, Greensprings is pushing beyond conventional boundaries—building Nigeria’s first Olympic-sized swimming pool to unlock the potential of aquatic sports and foster international-level athletes.

The new creative arts center aims to unearth Nigeria’s next generation of filmmakers, musicians, and performers, with alumni already making waves internationally—one of whom starred in Hollywood’s ‘The Hunger Games’ series.

Mrs. Lai Koiki, the school’s Executive Director, emphasized that Greensprings’ mission extends beyond education to national development, adding, “Our goal is to identify and nurture innate talent, instilling discipline, creativity, and resilience—qualities that will propel Nigeria to greater heights,” she said.

She also highlighted plans for a state-of-the-art theatre to serve as a cultural hub that will inspire community engagement and national pride.

Industry leaders, including Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan of the Lagos State Security Fund, lauded Greensprings’ exemplary standards and impactful contributions. “This institution is producing not just students, but Nigeria’s future ambassadors,” he affirmed. “Their talents and dedication will shape Nigeria’s image globally.”

The PTA chairman at the Lekki campus, Femi Omotayo, explained that the project is aimed at raising a total child. We are currently raising funds to build the school’s Creative Arts Centre. For us, this is the last missing piece in the jigsaw; it is what truly sets us apart.

According to him, the centre will be a world-class creative facility that caters to all literary and creative genres, including music, theatre, and fine arts, where children can develop and refine their skills.

“When you witness performances at our Christmas show, you would think the children are already professionals. These children are the leaders of tomorrow—not only in the arts, but also as future leaders of this country—because of the knowledge and skill sets they are acquiring. Through the arts, they develop empathy and learn many transferable skills that apply to all areas of life. This is one of the key qualities that set the school apart.”

Omotayo said the school focuses on five main pillars: academic excellence, sports, moral conduct and good behaviour, community service, and creative development. Our students actively engage in community service as part of their learning.

He noted that the Creative Arts Centre will be a multipurpose facility that serves not only the school but also the wider community, “we therefore call on well meaning Nigerians and Lagos State residents to support this ₦5 billion project.”

The event culminated with calls from stakeholders like veteran actor Dr. Tony Akposheri, urging government and private sector support to harness Nigeria’s creative potential fully. As Greensprings continues its journey of expansion and excellence, it reaffirms its unwavering mission: to empower Nigeria’s youth to become the nation’s brightest stars and most formidable ambassadors—today and tomorrow.
