Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has expressed shock over the demise of the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ahmad Jalam.
Jalam, popularly known as Mai Kankana, died in an accident which occurred along the Bauchi-Jalam Expressway in Bauchi, on Saturday. He was reportedly travelling to his village in Jalam, Dambam Local Government Area of the state.
A statement by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, described the incident as sad, adding that the deceased was a dedicated public servant whose commitment to the development and well-being of the state and his local communities was unwavering.
On behalf of his family, government, and people of the state, the governor extended his deepest condolences to the members of his immediate family and the entire people of the state and prayed that God will forgive his shortcomings
The late Ahmed Aliyu Jalam died and left behind wives and many children, and was buried yesterday, in his home town, Jalam, in the Dambam local government area of Bauchi State, by 11am.
