Nigeria U17 team, the Golden Eaglets, will feature in an international tournament in Dubai later this year, according to the NFF president Amaju Pinnick.
This month, five-time world champions Eaglets crashed out of the qualifiers for the 2017 AFCON in Madagascar in Niger.
Niger eliminated Nigeria 3-2 on aggregate and will clash against Gabon, aggregate winners over Algeria, for a place at next year’s U17 AFCON.
However, Pinnick insisted the NFF will not abandon the team because “they are the youngest ever Golden Eaglets” and that is why they will be kept together. “They will feature in an international tournament in Dubai later this year,” Pinnick disclosed on a national television programme Tuesday.
