The General Manager of the Oyo State Sports Council, Tunji Ajibike, has commended the newly constituted Oyo State Squash Association led by Wale Salako, as well as Southwest squash stakeholders, for their remarkable commitment to the development of the sport in the state.

Ajibike praised the association and stakeholders for investing multi-million naira in the renovation of the squash court at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, describing the initiative as a significant boost to grassroots sports development and a major step toward reviving the game of squash in Oyo State.

He noted that the ongoing projects of the upgraded facilities will not only enhance training standards for athletes but also position the state to host major squash competitions while assuring adequate usage and protection of top-notch facilities that they intend to install.

Assuring them of the Council’s ongoing support in maintaining sports development throughout the state, he further underlined that the association’s cooperation with important stakeholders shows great unity and dedication to improving squash.

This dedication encourages more young athletes to follow their passion for squash and provides a strong basis for future sports investments. With these enhancements, the state is well-positioned to emerge as a premier location for community involvement and athletic excellence.
