Thursday, December 5, 2024, was a night of excitement, pomp and razzle-dazzle rolled into one, as Mikano Motors, along with its partner, Changan Automobiles, launched into the Nigerian auto market two new premium models as part of the Changan Festive Night ‘24.
The two new kids on the block from Changan – the all-new Changan CS95 with its classic and luxurious lines, and the urban-dream ride, the X7 Plus – were given a rousing launch under heavy spotlight at Mikano Motors award-winning showroom in Victoria Island, Lagos
As is typical of Mikano Motors’ unveiling ceremonies, the unveiling of the new CS95 and X7 Plus, attracted celebrities, influencers, media friends, brand ambassadors, and business partners, who had the privilege of a firsthand feel of the vehicles’ advanced features and design.
Both vehicles were given a flowery introduction, starting with the seven-seater X7 Plus which was ushered in by a member of the Mikano Motors sales team and Showroom Manager, Grace Anasiudu.
Anasiudu informed guests that X7 Plus is reputed to have amazing features, including a 1.5L Turbo GDI engine, 185HP/300NM, 7 Speed DCT/FWD, 360 Cameras/four airbags, six speakers/12.3 infotainment display, panoramic sunroof, etc.
The elder sister, the Changan CS95, flaunts a 2.0L Turbo GDI engine, 233HP/390NM, according to the National Sales Manager, Chijioke Mbonu.
Mbonu said that the Changan CS95 has an eight-speed Automatic Transmission linked to its 4WD system, 360 Cameras, six airbags, 10 speakers/12.3 infotainment display, amongst other excellent features.
Addressing the guests at the launch, the Executive Director, Mikano International Limited, Omar Karameh, said the gathering was not only to celebrate the success of Mikano Motors, but also the power of collaboration, vision, and determination.
Karameh disclosed that in just two years, Mikano Motors has risen to become a leader in the automotive market, a milestone the company is incredibly proud of.
Noting that Mikano Motors’ vehicles have become trusted companions across industries—most notably in the banking and telecom sectors, the Executive Director pointed out that one of the pillars of the company’s success has been their commitment to accessibility and service.
“Today, we stand as a truly nationwide presence, with a network of dealers, showrooms, and service centres strategically located to meet the needs of our customers wherever they are. Our latest showroom in Kano is a testament to this commitment. It is the largest automotive facility of its kind in the region, and it symbolises our dedication to bringing world-class automotive solutions closer to our customers.
“As we celebrate our achievements today, I am reminded that this is just the beginning. The automotive industry is evolving rapidly, and with Changan’s cutting-edge innovation and our shared drive to exceed expectations, we are ready to embrace the future. Our goal is not only to sustain our leadership in the market but to continually raise the bar for what our customers can expect from us”, Karameh said.
In her remarks, the Head, Changan African Sales, Stephanie Wang, said that, in the first 11 months of 2024, Changan achieved total sales of over 2.5 million units, with new energy vehicle sales exceeding 640,000 units.
Wang stated that Changan’s overseas sales amounted to 340,000 units, marking a year-on-year growth of 53 percent.
She further stated, “We are pleased to find a strong and like-minded partner in Mikano International Limited, led by Mr Mofid Karameh, and his team – all experts in the business.

In his remarks, National Operations Manager of Mikano Motors, Syam Abdulkadir, said the company is bent on churning out quality vehicles that are suitable for Nigerian roads.
Abdulkadir said, “We have a state-of-the-art assembly plant which is in Karameh City. With X7 plus, you have a 7 seater with sunroof, Lane Adjust Warning and many other amazing features. With CS95, you have the offer of Electric Brake Assist, ventilated interior etc. We also have the option for Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) for all the models”.
Ace Nigerian record producer and singer, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, also commended Changan for the quality of their vehicles.
Don Jazzy confirmed that he uses the Changan brand of vehicles and has since discovered that the vehicles are of high quality and reliability.
Similarly, another Mikano brand Ambassador, Jemima Osunde, testified to the quality and reliability of Changan vehicles.
Osunde said, “I am happy that a lot of people are at this Changan event. Changan is an amazing brand and I am happy people are buying it. You can not travel 2 kilometres in this country without seeing a Changan brand of vehicle.”
The evening ended with closing remarks from Ms Joelle Haykal, Group Executive Director, who expressed gratitude to the guests for their presence and unwavering support, promising an even better product and performance outlook for 2025.
The night offered more than just product reveals, but was a re-affirmation of Mikano Motors- Changan’s commitment to delivering world-class vehicles, exceptional experiences and services to their customers.
