Continental art organisation GetLit Africa is set to launch the maiden edition of the Purple Room, a new monthly gathering designed to foster collaboration and creative expression among emerging African artists.
The inaugural event will take place tomorrow, in Lagos.
Conceived as a welcoming physical sanctuary, the Purple Room will bring together writers, poets, filmmakers, performers, visual artists, content creators, and art enthusiasts to exchange ideas, showcase original works, and forge professional relationships.
Each session will feature structured networking, interactive creative games, open-mic performances, member showcases, and open-floor discussions on contemporary artistic trends and lifestyle.

”Participation in Purple Room is free, though registration is required. Our goal is to expose creatives to tangible opportunities and resources, preparing them to access broader support across cultural platforms. Whatever your medium—poetry, music, photography, writing, or visual arts—just bring it on,” said Olawale Oluwadahunsi, Founder and Creative Director of GetLit Africa.
According to the organisation, the initiative seeks to build an interconnected creative ecosystem across the continent, offering practical pathways for talent development.
Founded in 2016, GetLit Africa is a storytelling and cultural organization dedicated to connecting African creatives through performance competitions, community dialogues, and professional development programs.
