Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullaui Umar Ganduje has nominated 44 officers to serve as the Interim Management Officers(IMOs) for the 44 Local Government Area of the state.
Among those that made the list were Usaini Ajingi, Akilu Kassim Albasu Ali Namadi Bebeji and Murtala Ibrahim Bichi , according to a source who was privy to the list.
The governor, it was gathered, had since dispatched the list of the nominees to the Kano State House of Assembly for screening and eventual approval by the House amidst swirl of expectation among the people of the state.
Assembly source told Daily Sun, yesterday, that the screening exercise, which flagged off earlier in the week, had been very successful.
The source disclosed that so far, the house of assembly had cleared 32 of the nominees, while nine were still pending.
The source added that the assembly had rejected three of the nominees.
The source cited the reasons for their rejection to include issues associated with impudence and the fact that some of the governor’s nominee had no public service experience as stipulated by the law.
Salisu Ririwai, House committee Chairman on Information, could not be reached for comments as at press time.
Recalled that the 44 Local Government chairmen of the party, elected during the tenure of Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, completed their tenure on May 28, 2017.
