Gallant Super Falcons arrive Nigeria after World Cup exit

After helping Nigeria’s Super Falcons to the second-round finish in the ongoing Women’s World Cup, six US-based players have returned to their base.

The Nigerian side put in an impressive in the second-round game but lost to the European champions England through a penalty shootout.

The team coach Randy Waldrum left the team camp a few hours after the country’s elimination from the tournament.Following the World Cup exit, a few players from the squad have returned to the country.

The players landed at the Muritala Mohammed Airport, Lagos, on Wednesday evening.

The players include Asisat Oshoala, Rasheedat Ajibade, Osinachi Ohale, Tochukwu Oluehi, Gift Monday, Rofiat Imuran and Chiamaka Nnadozie.

Michelle Alozie, Ifeoma Onumonu, Deborah Abiodun, Yewande Balogun, Toni Payne, Jennifer Echeginni and Esther Okonkwo are the players that departed for their base.

The rest of the team touched down in Nigeria on Wednesday through Murtala Mohammed Airport in Lagos.
