Turkish champions Galatasaray have reached an agreement with Burnley to sign Super Eagles-eligible midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu in a deal worth just under €30 million, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The 22-year-old is expected to complete the formalities of the transfer in the coming days after the two clubs finalised the financial terms of the deal.
Romano confirmed the development on Sunday via his official X account, writing: “Here we go, confirmed: Lesley Ugochukwu will sign his contract at Galatasaray shortly. Deal worth under €30m package from Burnley for the midfielder.”
Ugochukwu impressed during the 2025/26 Premier League campaign despite Burnley’s relegation to the Championship. The Nigerian-born midfielder featured in 35 league matches, scoring three goals and providing two assists, earning plaudits for his composure, physical presence and versatility in midfield.
His performances attracted interest from several European clubs, but Galatasaray have now moved decisively to secure his signature as they strengthen their squad for next season’s domestic and European campaigns.
The move will also reunite Ugochukwu with fellow Nigerian international Victor Osimhen at the Turkish giants, adding another Super Eagles connection to Galatasaray’s squad.
If the transfer is completed as expected, it will rank among the club’s biggest signings of the summer and further underline Galatasaray’s ambition to compete strongly in both the Turkish Super Lig and European competitions.
