The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced its gantry price from N828 to N699 per litre, representing a 16 per cent cut.

The gantry price also known as ex-depot is the price sold to bulk off-takers, especially to Dangote retail partners, which is different from the retail pump price.

Though the Dangote Refinery as at the time of filing this report had yet to release an official statement in relation to the price slash, findings by Saturday Sun on petroleumprice.ng, a real time online portal which tracks petroleum product prices across major depots revealed a price drop.

Further findings by Saturday Sun revealed that some filling stations have responded to the price drop by quickly adjusting their pump prices in order to gain a larger chunk of the market share.

As at 10am yesterday morning, the Mobil filling station in New Oko-Oba, Abule Egba in Lagos had adjusted its pump price to N875 per litre from N910 per litre ditto for Ardova Petroleum.

But, the NNPC filling station on Charity Road in the same location was selling at N890 per litre as at yesterday afternoon.

The new price took effect on December 11, 2025, marking the 20th petrol price adjustment announced by the refinery this year.

The latest reduction comes barely five days after the refinery’s Chairman, Aliko Dangote, restated his commitment to keeping domestic fuel prices “reasonable and competitive” despite global volatility and persistent smuggling along Nigeria’s borders.

Speaking after a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu on December 6, Dangote said prices would continue to fall as the refinery ramps up output and competes directly with imported products.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery recently confirmed its commitment to supplying Nigeria’s domestic petrol requirements, pledging 1.5 billion litres of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) per month, equivalent to 50 million litres per day, starting in December 2025.
