The Vice Chancellor, Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK), Prof. Muhammad Zaiyan Umar has approved 17 key new appointments and reappointments of Deputy Dean, University PRO, Directors, Deputy Directors and Ag. Heads of Department.
This was confirmed in a statement made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi by the Public Relations Officer(PRO) of the University Mallam Jamilu M. Magaji.
According to him, ” the appointments and reappointments are part of the effort of the Vice Chancellor to realign the University’s workforce for inclusiveness and optimal productivity.
“Conveying the appointments in a letter to the appointees, Registrar of the University, Abubakar Aliyu indicates that Dr. Yusuf Emmanuel of the Department of Social Science Education has been appointed as the Deputy Dean, Faculty of Education. The VC also regularized the appointment of Mal. Jamilu Magaji as the substantive Public Relations Officer and Head, Information and Public Relations of the University”.
He stated that,the newly appointed Director and Deputy Director of Management Information System (MIS) are: Dr. Abdulhakim Ibrahim, Ag. Director, Management Information System and Mal. Armaya’u Saad as Deputy Director, Management Information System. Their appointments takes effect from 6th January, 2023 and 18th April, 2023, respectively.
“Similarly, Dr. Adamu Aliyu Gwandu, is reappointed as the Ag. Director, University Health Services Department; Mal. Modibbo Abubakar, Deputy Director, Academic Planning (with effect from March 25, 2023); Dr. Aminu Zuni, Deputy Director, General Studies; Mal. Abdulkadir Abubakar, Examinations Officer, General Studies (effective November 2, 2022) while Abubakar Hashim of the Department of Computer Science is appointed as the Head of Software Development Unit.
“On the other hand, the newly appointed Ag. Heads of Department are Dr. Mohammed Bashar Danlami, (Microbiology), Dr. Yusuf Abdulrahman Bashir (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology), Dr. Badamasi Saidu (Polical Science) and Dr. Ali Sherrif Kabara (Accounting). Others are Dr. Halima Muhammad Bande (Business Administration), Dr. Ismail Kaoje (Geography), Dr. Aliyu Muhammad Umar (European Languages) and Dr. Auwal Mustapha Imam (Physics with Electronics)”.
He adde that, ” the appointments of Deputy Dean, Ag. Director Health Services and Ag. Heads of Department takes effect from 18th April, 2023. The appointments of Deputy Director, General Studies, Head of Software Development Unit as well as Ag. Head of the Department of Physics with Electronics takes effect from April 19, 2023 and February 21, 2023, respectively.
“Both appointments and reappointments which are in recognition of the appointees’ administrative and professional experience, are for a period of two years”.
He added that, the Vice Chancellor charged the new appointees to bring to bear their wealth of experience in the discharge of their duties and responsibilities for the overall development of the institution.
