In a remarkable tale of transformation, young Nigerian lawyer Raymond Ijeomah has defied odds, transitioning from a modest monthly salary of N40,000 in a Benin law firm to achieving monthly millions through his thriving brokerage firm in Abuja, all within a span of three years.
The Genesis of change
Ijeomah’s venture into real estate began during his final year at the University of Benin in 2016. His interest in the field grew steadily through Law School in Lagos, NYSC in Abakaliki, and employment in a Benin law firm handling land dispute cases and real estate transactions. Despite the challenges of a demanding role, he leveraged his responsibilities to accumulate valuable knowledge.
In 2020, armed with expertise gained over two years and undeterred by personal setbacks, including losing nearly a million naira to a Ponzi scheme during the Covid-19 pandemic, Ijeomah took a bold step. Despite financial constraints, he founded Fortreal Rei Ltd, a move facilitated by a supportive friend.
From study to success
Prior to formally establishing Fortreal Rei Ltd, Ijeomah initiated the “Propertylawyer” platform. Here, he shared his extensive research on the legal aspects of real estate investment, aiming to educate Nigerians on ensuring safety, profitability, and sustainability. This initiative laid the foundation for the Fortreal brand.
Fast-forward to today, Ijeomah’s journey in real estate has propelled him from a N40,000 monthly salary to consistently making millions through property sales. His initial reluctance towards marketing and sales transformed into a passion, acknowledging their pivotal role in any business.
