Entrepreneurs, founders, and business professionals gathered in Lagos on January 29 for a high-level business forum hosted by African Market Entry Consulting Limited, as Nigeria’s regulatory and tax environment continues to undergo significant change.
The CompanyFormation.Africa Connect, an Exclusive Founders & Entrepreneurs Meetup, held at the Radisson Blu Anchorage Hotel, Victoria Island, brought together stakeholders from across sectors to engage in practical discussions on regulatory compliance, taxation, governance, and sustainable enterprise development.
In his opening remarks, Mr Ayokunle Bankole, Managing Director of African Market Entry Consulting Limited, noted that whether as a founder, a freelancer, a professional, or a growing company, compliance in 2026 will not be business as usual.
“Nigeria is not hostile to business. What it demands is clarity, structure, and intentional compliance,” Bankole said.
Delivering the keynote address, Mrs Abiola Laseinde, Chief Executive Officer of Edniesal Consulting, spoke on “Regulatory Compliance in Nigeria: What It Truly Means – Practical Lessons from Navigating an Uncertain Regulatory Landscape.” She highlighted the need for founders to move beyond superficial compliance and embrace governance as a strategic asset.
A major session focused on the New Tax Act, with Mr Polycarp Nwosu, Head of Tax and Audit at African Market Entry Consulting Limited, explaining recent reforms, enforcement expectations, and compliance risks facing businesses in 2026.
The event also featured a panel discussion comprising legal, agricultural, and banking professionals, who shared insights on building resilient businesses within Nigeria’s evolving economic framework.
The gathering reflected a growing emphasis on informed entrepreneurship, positioning compliance not as a burden, but as a foundation for long-term growth.
