in supporting and sponsoring indigent and brilliant students from the state, as well as his desire to help the poor and less privileged in society.
“Today, to the glory of God I present this one million naira cheque to these ten students for the payments of their SS3 school fees and registration of their WAEC.
“The beneficiaries are the first set of secondary school students who are under the scholarship scheme of Anyichi Foundation and our plan is that many more students will follow.
“What we are doing through the foundation is in line with Governor Peter Mbah’s programme, to support students of the state in their education, as well as the passion in me to help the poor and less privileged ones in society.
“It is not that I have much to give but, because I appreciate God’s continuous grace upon my life, and helping the needy has been my earnest prayer to God Almighty to provide me with the resources that I will use to actualize my dreams for the society,” he said.
Oyiga who was represented by his wife, Mrs. Ifeoma Oyiga urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money by committing it to their school fees and WAEC registration, that was even as he appealed to the school management and the teachers to prepare them very well for the upcoming WAEC exam to enable them to make good grades in all their subjects.
Responding, Mr. Gerald Atamah, Principal, Community Secondary School, Nkpamute, commended Hon. Oyiga for the 1 million naira donation to the students saying that there is no investment and legacy that surpasses that of human capital development which he said the philanthropist has brought to the area, adding that generations to come will remember the indelible mark.
