Foundation reaches out to elderly residents across Osun communities

As part of activities marking the Christmas and New Year festivities, the Fatade Idowu Foundation, under the leadership of its founder, Mr. Idowu Fatade Olamilekan, organized a humanitarian food outreach on December 22, 2025, to support vulnerable residents in Osun State.

The outreach program took place in Eripa, Otan Ayegbaju, Iresi, Okerun, and Igbajo communities within Boluwaduro Local Government Area. During the exercise, food supplies and essential household items were shared with more than 300 elderly individuals.

According to the foundation, the initiative was inspired by Mr. Idowu’s strong commitment to improving the welfare of senior citizens. The goal was to reduce the financial strain often experienced during the festive season and ensure that elderly members of the community were not left out of the celebrations.

Representatives of the foundation explained that the program reflects their belief in compassion, unity, and collective responsibility. In addition to distributing relief items, volunteers spent time engaging with beneficiaries, offering comfort, encouragement, and moral support.

The Chairman of Boluwaduro Local Government, Hon. Aina Abayomi Adesina, praised Mr. Olamilekan Idowu fatade for the thoughtful initiative. He described the intervention as meaningful and well-timed, particularly amid increasing economic challenges, and expressed the local government’s willingness to partner with the foundation on future projects.

Commending the Founder is the King of Owa Otan Ayegbaju, Oba Lukman Adesola Ojo Fadipe also expresses his gratitude to Mr Idowu Fatade Olamilekan for deeming it fight to cater for the aged once in this trying period. The king further encourage people to emulate his kind gesture.
Community leaders also commended the foundation’s efforts, noting that such support plays a vital role in uplifting residents during difficult times.

Beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation for the assistance, saying it brought much-needed relief and renewed optimism.

Mr. Olamilekan Idowu reaffirmed the foundation’s dedication to ongoing humanitarian work and pledged to continue promoting care, respect, and social responsibility within local communities.
