A Non-Governmental organization in the area of combating hunger in Africa, T200 Foundation has distributed food items to hundreds of poor, hungry and persons with disability in Kano State.
The Foundation in partnership with the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and the Ministry of Women, Children and Persons with Disability, in the state doled out a 12.5 kg bag of rice, a packet of spaghetti, a sachet of salt and tomato paste to the beneficiaries to take home.
Apart from that, they also hosted each participant to a plate of food and a cold drink at the occasion held at the Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano.
Executive Director, T200 Foundation, Emmanuel Osadebay, while speaking to journalists, exolained that the Foundation was working in partnership with some government outfits and the private sector players to end hunger in Nigeria and Africa.
Osadebay disclosed that they had carried out similar feeding programs in Abuja, Sokoto and other states before coming to Kano.
“We are moving round the 36 states in trying to end hunger. A hungry man is an angry person. He needs food, not just to eat and survive but to also perform well and think rightly,” Osadebay said.
Permanent Secretary, Kano State Ministry of Women, Children and Persons with Disability, Sa’adatu Bala appreciated the efforts of the Foundation while acknowledging that the intervention is a welcome development.
“The end-hunger programme is a welcome development and Ambassador Emmanuel Osadebay is doing pretty well in that regard.
“We are grateful that he has come to our state. At the Ministry, he told us that women and children are close to his heart. And for supporting women and children, who are the most vulnerable, we are indeed grateful to him for the support he has brought,” she said. End.
