Former EFCC boss, Bawa, bags Tafidan Jega title

The former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, has been conferred with the traditional title of Tafidan Jega by the Jega Emirate Council, Kebbi State.

According to the Emir of Jega, Alhaji Muhammadu Arzika, told Bawa, one of the tasks of Tafidan is to guide the timely completion of all the development projects within the Emirate and ensure that they touch the lives of the people positively.

While the 43-year old Bawa was honoured with the Tafidan Jega, his uncle, Alhaji Ibrahim Yahaya Bawa, a former Executive Director, Services of the Kaduna Refining and Petro-chemical Company, subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum company Limited was conferred with the title of Cigari Jega.

 This was contained in a statement by the Spokesperson of Bawa family, Tijjani Isa which was made available to Sunday Sun.

In his remarks, Bawa expressed gratitude to the Emir for the honour done him and his uncle, assuring of his loyalty to the monarch and the entire Emirate Council.
