In a commendable move by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Mr. Silas Ali Agara, the former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Nigeria Nation-Wide League One. The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Nasarawa State Chapter, extends its heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Agara on this well-deserved appointment.
The SWAN Nasarawa State Chapter in a statement signed by both the chairman Isa Muhammed and the secretary Smah George sent to journalist on Saturday recognizes Mr. Agara as a true Pillar of Sports in the state, given his impressive track records and profound understanding of grassroots sports. His appointment comes as no surprise, considering his unwavering dedication to the development of sports at the grassroots level.
With this new responsibility, the Association earnestly prays for God Almighty to grant Mr. Agara the necessary enablement to revolutionize the sporting industry, particularly at the grassroots level. It is widely acknowledged that no nation can truly prosper in sports without providing adequate attention to grassroots football development. Thus, the Association has full confidence in Mr. Agara’s ability to bring about positive changes in this regard.
Furthermore, the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Nasarawa State Chapter extends its warmest congratulations to Hajiya Husseina Suleiman Nagogo, Chairperson of Nasarawa Amazons FC of Lafia, on her appointment as the Vice Chairperson of the Nigeria Women League by the Nigeria Football Federation.
Hajiya Nagogo’s vast experience in women’s football makes her an ideal candidate to contribute to the development of women’s football in Nigeria. Additionally, she is expected to play a vital role in rebranding Nasarawa Amazons, the state-owned female football club.
