Former Defence Chief Admiral Ogohi dies at 75

A former Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi, has died aged 75.

According to reports on Sunday, the retired naval officer died after a brief illness in Abuja.

Ogohi was CDS from 1999 to 2003, under the Olusegun Obasanjo administration.

Confirming the development, Director of Defence Information, Brig.-Gen. Tukur Gusau said, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajiun. With deep sorrow, I announce the death of Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi (retd.), a former Chief of Defence Staff (1999-2003).

“He passed on in Abuja in the early hours of today. More details will be communicated later.”
