After battling kidney failure for more than a year, the former Team Manager of Bayelsa United, Anthony Ogola has died.

Information reaching Saturday Sunsports has it that Ogola gave up the ghost at an undisclosed hospital in Port Harcourt.

A senior journalist in Bayelsa, Loveday Herbert, who has been raising funds for Ogola’s treatment in India for the kidney transplant disclosed that all efforts to persuade Ogola’s friends in government failed, forcing him and other friends to raise an appeal fund and the sum of N34 million was raised for the treatment in India.

“We actually raised the N34 million for the Indian hospital bill and other expenses and we were in Port Harcourt for trip but no airline was ready to fly him because of his condition,” Herbert said.

At that point, Herbert said the doctor advised that Ogola should be admitted in the Port Harcourt hospital for continuation of the dialysis, pending when his health improves for him to undergo the trip.

Sadly, Ogola’s condition deteriorated and all efforts to stabilize him failed as he died this afternoon.
