The Director General of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Professor Mojisola Christiana Adeyeye has urged Small Scale and Medium Entrepreneurs operating in Kebbi state not to panic about regular inspection and surveillances of the agency ,rather,they should follow their rules.
Adeyeye,who stated this while addressing entrepreneurs,business groups,and business stakeholders in Birnin Kebbi during her visit to the state, said, NAFDAC would not harm them but putting them,their businesses on the right path.
The DG, represented by the NorthWest Zonal Coordinator,Mrs. Josephine Abbas- Dayilim, said, the door of NAFDAC are always open to guide and counsel them how to excel in their businesses.
According to her, ” the objective of this meeting is to interface with you,re- emphasis that,you should know that NAFDAC is a friend of the society. We are friend of Nigerians. We are here to guide you, counsel you so that you can continue to do the right things.
“It is believed that when the drugs,foods are safe,well processed,it will be good for all of us in the society and the immediate beneficiaries. We want you to continue to perform better and consistently improving. If you get your production processing rights, definitely,the output will be healthy.”
Adeyeye,who appealed to bakers,not to be using bromate for bread production, urged dealers, wholesalers and retailers of pharmaceutical drugs to safe guide the drugs until it reached the final consumers.
“If the consumers used your product satisfactory,they will come back to your stores. The reason NAFDAC is conducting inspection , continue surveillances,is to ensure that you are doing the right things everytime.
“I am here before you so that you can continue to obey the laws and order. There is no need to be panicking when you heard NAFDAC is coming out. We are there to guide you so that together,we can safe guiding the nation. We are not here to witch hurting anybody.
“But we would not allow anybody to harm the general public. The good health of individuals and the general public is more important to us in NAFDAC”, she said.
Earlier,the Kebbi State Coordinator of the Agency,Alhaji Muyideen Folorunsho Suleiman,who commended the Governor of Kebbi State,the people of the state for creating a favourable environment for the Staff of the agency to operate.
Suleiman said that,the state office of the agency have been very consistence on the regular renewer of licenses of entrepreneurs in the state.
The DG of NAFDAC and her team also paid a visit to the Kebbi State Commissioner of Health and Commissioner for Commerce as part of efforts to ensure entrepreneurs complies to the agency rules in the state.
