Focus on delivery of good governance, Ogun lawmaker urges Nigeria’s political office holders

The Minority Leader of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Lukman Olalekan Adeleye, has called on political office holders in the country to eschew frivolities but pay more attention on how to deliver goodies of democracy to the people, especially persons and children with special needs.

The lawmaker equally charged them to be up and doing, in the developmental strides that would ensure a better society.

Adeleye stated this while handing over of a cheque N1m to install a transformer donated by the Ogun State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general election, Oladipupo Adebutu, to the residents of the Federal Government College Road Development Area, Odogbolu, Odogbolu Local Government Area.

While noting that one of the cardinal points of his developmental activities is to protect and encourage the physically-challenged, Adeleye disclosed that he decided to mark his birthday with the less-privileged children in his constituency and in the service of his people.

“The prevailing economic realities do not warrant any wasteful spending but to embark on developmental and impactful things, that would bring succour to our people.

“The community has been in darkness for almost six years when Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu donated the transformer, but since then, there has been no one to install it. As overwhelming as things are, I cannot continue to close my eyes to the plight of the residents of the community. Though it has not been easy as the challenges are too enormous, I have made it a point of duty to do my best and serve my people genuinely for the period of time they want me to serve them”, he said.

The OGHA Minority Leader, who expressed delight at spending his time and resources, in hosting and gifting the children with special needs, enjoined political office holders to have empathy and remember the people they are serving at all times.
