A heavy rainfall has cut off a significant portion of the Kano-Maiduguri Expressway.
Saturday Sun gathered that the incident happened at Malori-Guskuri community in the Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The natural development has rendered the road impassable, forcing motorists to resort to alternative routes to continue their journey to their destinations.
Bala Mohammed, the Governor of Bauchi State was at the scene of the incident. He emphasized the significance of the highway, which serves as a critical link between the North-West and North-East parts of Nigeria.

He therefore appealed to the Federal Government to urgently repair the damaged part of the highway to ease the impacts on the transportation of goods and services for the overall benefit of the people.
‘’The urgent intervention by the Federal Government was necessary to prevent carnage and associated hardships on the highway” he stated
Mohammad assured that his administration would work out modalities to maintain some of the federal roads in the state. End.
